Intuitive Pump Station Monitoring with a P&ID Process Diagram

A P&ID mimic shows the clean-water tank level filling and the pump impeller turning; with no separate SCADA server, a single HMI reads the PLC directly to visualize the site.

// 01 — OVERVIEW
Overview

How this HMI works

It displays water level, flow rate, discharge pressure, and totalized flow in real time, and also monitors dual-pump alternating operation along with water quality and temperature. It connects directly to domestic PLCs such as the LS XGB over Modbus and LS XGT, so no SCADA server is required.

Key features

Key features

Animated P&ID mimic

Renders tank level, impeller rotation, pipe flow, and valve status graphically.

Multiple trends · totalization

Aggregates trend graphs for level, flow, and pressure along with totalized flow.

Dual-pump alternation

Displays P1/P2 alternating operation and automatic control status.

Intelligent alarms

Automatically detects overpressure, overtemperature, dry running, and communication loss, and keeps a history.

Water quality · temperature monitoring

Monitors water-quality items such as residual chlorine, turbidity, and pH.

No SCADA required

The HMI polls the PLC directly, reducing server build-out cost.
